Athletes may soon be eligible for the Bharat Ratna -- India's highest civilian honour -- if the Prime Minister accepts the Home Ministry's latest recommendation. The Home Ministry has asked for PM’s nod to include sports as a category for the Bharat Ratna. Sachin Tendulkar will also be eligible for getting the award once the Prime Minister gives his approval.
