Arabic-Web-Farmers to gain from Amazon forest reform bill

Brazil's powerful agricultural sector has scored a major victory with the approval by the lower house of Congress of a reform to open up some protected forests to cropland and ranchers. The contested bill, now before the Senate, pits large landholders against environmentalists and small farmers who seek to protect the Amazonian rainforest. The land dispute has recently led to violence, with at least six murders in the space of a month allegedly targeting those opposed to the deforestation. A natural sound AFPTV report.
