A major fire broke out in a dyeing factory in western India on Tuesday. It is estimated the inferno destroyed goods worth millions of dollars.

A textile-dyeing mill at Bhiwandi in India's western state of Maharashtra was almost burned to ashes on Tuesday.

Soon after the fire broke out, fire engines rushed to the scene, but could not stop the fire from spreading to the entire factory.

Although the fire was massive, no casualties have been reported.

It is estimated that the massive fire has caused a destruction of material worth nearly $6 million.

The cause of the fire is still not certain.

The city of Bhiwandi is well known for its textile industry and has the largest number of power looms in the country.
