Ex-England and Saracens rugby star Kyran Bracken ...

Former Saracens and 51 times capped England World Cup winner, Kyran Bracken, is lending his help and support to a new five week programme - ‘Tackling Numbers’ - which will use rugby to improve the maths skills of thousands of schoolchildren in England.

Our video shows the rugby star running through several activities with Year 4 pupils in the classroom and then out on the playing field. All the exercises are designed to help children improve their basic numeracy and financial skills through bringing maths to life in a practical and enjoyable way.

The scheme will be taken up by over 800 schools in England between this season and 2013. By the end of the 2011 summer term, 600 children at 20 North London and Hertfordshire schools in the Saracens catchment area will already have taken part in the scheme.

Tackling Numbers is a joint initiative delivered by The 12 Premiership Rugby Clubs and MBNA, Europe’s largest credit card provider.
