Talks between the home secretaries of India and Pakistan continue in India... ahead of the resumption of official peace talks between the two countries in July.

[Gopal Krishna Pillai, Indian Home Secretary]:
"The talks were extremely positive, and there have been some positive development. We'll make a joint statement tomorrow by mid-day and we'll come back to you tomorrow."

Issues like cross-border terrorism, drug smuggling, and fake Indian currency are likely issues to be discussed during the two-day talks.

India and Pakistan have been slowly trying to repair relations and in February agreed to resume formal peace talks. The talks were broken off in the wake of the November 2008 Mumbai attack in which 166 people were killed.

The talks are expected to start again in July.
