Rio's Christ the Redeemer gets lighting makeover

The 'Christ the Redeemer' monument which towers over Rio de Janeiro has been given a new multi-coloured lighting makeover. The mammoth statue, which sits atop Mount Corcovado, is now illuminated by more environmentally-friendly LED floodlights which consume litlle power and run through a whole rainbow of hues from white to bright red to fluorescent green, blue and purple.
