Paras Shah, Nepal's former crown prince, has been released on bail after being arrested for his involvement in a late-night drunken brawl in a tourist resort where he allegedly fired from his gun in the air. The brawl was allegedly over a request to go looking for tigers at midnight.

Nepal's former crown prince, Paras Shah, was released on bail after being arrested on Tuesday. He was detained for his involvement in a late-night drunken brawl in a tourist resort where he allegedly fired his gun into the air.

Shah briefly participated in a rally organized by his sympathizers at the Pokhara airport before returning to Fulbari Tourist Resort where he was detained earlier.

One of the alleged victims of the dispute said Shah held a gun to his head because he wanted him to go looking for tigers at midnight in the jungle. He said Shah then fired the gun into the air.

Shah, who was known for nightclub brawls and drunk driving while he was heir to the Nepali throne, justified his crime by saying that whatever he did was for Nepal and its people.

[Paras Shah, Former Crowned Prince of Nepal]:
"Whatever I did was needed for Nepal and Nepalese people and if necessity arises, I will repeat the same again and again for the nation."

Paras Shah and his father, former King Gyanendra, have been forced to live as commoners after a specially-elected assembly abolished the monarchy in 2008.
