Zac Efron splits from Vanessa Hudgens

Zac Efron has apparently split from his long term girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens.

The couple met when they starred together in the blockbuster High School Musical trilogy.

Friends are reported to have said that the split was amicable, and that they expect the pair to get back together before long.

During their relationship rumours surfaced that the romance was a publicity stunt. More recently there were unconfirmed reports that Efron had been flirting with Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus.

In his latest film, The Life and Death of Charlie St. Cloud, Efron plays a young man grieving over the death of his younger brother.
