BMW has been making the X3 SUV since 2004. Now it's time for the second generation to hit the market. With some design and technical improvements, the new X3 is meant to throw down the gauntlet to Audi's new Q5.There are two engines available in the X3 - a 184 horsepower diesel and a 306 horsepower petrol engine. We test the latter and check out the first attempt by BMW to combine a start-stop system with a six-cylinder engine and an eight-gear automatic gearbox.
