Nicole Kidman steps out for Rabbit Hole premiere

Nicole Kidman was joined by her husband Keith Urban and co-star Aaron Eckhart for the New York premiere of her latest film Rabbit Hole.

It tells the story of a husband and wife whose lives are turned upside down when their young child dies in an accident.

Kidman said she was attracted to the film due to its raw emotional depth.

"The film is about moving through pain and how a family copes with that and I think it connects us all and I hope that it makes people feel less alone when they see this film", she said.

Aaron Eckhart, who plays Kidman's husband Howie Corbett, does not have children of his own but says he spent time with grieving families to get a sense of loss.

"I went to the source, I went to people who lost people. I attend a grief seminar, got as much as I could. And then I just put myself in that situation.

"I'm not a parent, I'm not married, but I mean I don't think you have to be to be able to empathise and to relate to that."

Rabbit Hole is released in UK cinemas from 4 February 2011.
