Vog 018 - Arcade Fire | Bruce Springsteen | Sheryl Crow ...

Arcade Fire make a return visit to the Saturday Night Live stage, performing 'We Used To Wait" and the wonderful "Sprawl II (Mountains beyond Mountains). Three days later on November 16th, Bruce Springsteen appeared on Jimmy Fallon for the entire show, doing two interview segments and performing three songs. The first was actually a duet with his host, a funny cover of "Whip My Hair" (the breakout viral hit for the 10 year old Willow Smith) followed by "Because The Night" and "Save My Love". it looked like the Roots were having a fantastic time jamming along with these numbers, as did Steven Van Zandt. Next we turn to our "On Disc" segment, with a review of a new trade-friendly release of "Cheryl Crow and Friends", the 1999 concert from New York's Central Park in which Crow is joined by Chrissie Hynde ("If It Makes You Happy") and Keith Richards ("Happy") among others. Drive-By Truckers are on something of a roll this year, as their album "The Big To-Do" continues to make waves for the Athens Georgia outfit. We play a clip of "Birthday Boy" from the Jools Holland back in April 2010, and another from their Austin City Limits set in 2008 ("Righteous Path") Pete Townshend's "Rough Boys" and "Give Blood" round out this week's episode, and we revisit the press that surrounded the iconic rocker's admission of bisexuality this week in 1990, as well as his comments to Rolling Stone magazine in 2002 that laid the matter to rest.
