In the Lionsgate movie “Alpha & Omega, A Pawsome 3D Adventure”, Kate and Humphrey are two grey wolves trying to make their way back home to Jasper, Alberta. The grey wolf, which is a large predatory animal, shares the same habitat as the Pine Marten, but that’s not the only similarity between these two magnificent animals.
“The coolest thing about pine martens is what they eat,” says Ashley Fell, an Earth Ranger with EarthRangers.com. “They’re nails are very sharp to allow them to climb trees where they eat birds and eggs. They also like to swim so they’ll eat fish as well.”
Pine martens are named after their preferred habitat – pine and conifer forests throughout North America.
