Obamas show off moves in Mumbai

American President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama danced with children during their visit to a school in Mumbai.

During their visit to the Holy Name High School to participate in the Hindu festival of lights, the US first couple lit the traditional lamps before being treated to some colourful folk dance and music by the school children.

The performers initially invited the first lady Michelle Obama to join them while the US President clapped and cheered from the sideline, and then soon brought a hesitant Obama to the dance floor.

The students also made a special 'Rangoli' (traditional designs made on the ground with coloured powders) for the Obamas.

The US President is due to speak to north Indian farmers by video conference and attend a townhall meeting at a college in Mumbai before flying to New Delhi for a tour of a Mughal era tomb and dinner with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

The Obamas are in India on the first leg of a tour of Asia. They will also travel to Indonesia, South Korea and Japan.
