A Tibetan activist has arrived in India after completing a 22 country tour. The trip has been about raising human rights violations in Tibet under the Chinese regime.

Driving across 22 in eight months by motorbike – that’s what Tibetan activist Lhakpa Tsering has been doing to raise awareness about the situation in his homeland of Tibet and gain support for a free Tibet.

The New York-based Tibetan-in-exile began the 'Free Tibet World Tour' on his motorbike from the United Nations headquarters on March 10.

After more than eight months of travel, he arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday, where he was joined by thousands of supporters.

[Lhakpa Tsering, Tibetan Activist]:
"This is a cause to raise awareness and issues for Tibet. Tibet has been illegally occupied by the Chinese Communist government since 1959. More than one million Tibetans died, 6,000 monasteries were destroyed, nuns raped. There is no religious right in Tibet, there is no human rights in Tibet and there is no freedom in Tibet."

Tibetans from across the world came out in support of Tsering to create awareness about Tibet.

[Lhakpa Tsering, Tibetan Activist]:
"I have traveled around United States, Canada, whole of Europe, Japan, Australia and India now is my last country. India is my last country because India is a very important part of my journey, because India is the place where Tibetans took refuge when Tibet was illegally taken over."

Tsering plans to finish his tour on October 29 at Dharamsala, the headquarters of the Tibetan government-in-exile.
