Mobility scooter's magic carpet ride

A mobility scooter driver has been caught on camera driving along a road with a large roll of carpet balanced across his vehicle.

The clip, recorded by a driver following behind, shows the man wobbling along a road in Wincanton, Somerset, at speeds of up to 8mph.

The elderly driver's cargo completely blocks the lane, forcing him to pull over to allow traffic to pass him.

Gary McKenna, 20, was a passenger in the car behind the pensioner and recorded this video on his mobile phone.

''I was in a car with a mate when we saw him and thought it was rather out of the ordinary," he said.

''We drove past and parked up and waited for him to come past and followed him.

''I don't know how old the man was, I didn't see his face, but I'd have thought he was in his 70s," he added
