Sans doute un des plus beaux titres de Simon and Garfunkel, duo américain mythique des années 60 de musique pop aux influences folk Il est extrait de leur dernier album sorti en 1970 qui marque la rupture entre les deux membres du duo: les dissensions étaient nombreuses lors de la réalisation de l'album d'ou leur séparation Mais cela reste un de leur plus beaux opus avec des titres phare comme "The boxer", "El condor pasa" et surtout "bridge over trouble water",chanson écrite un peu comme un gospel musicalement (avec un superbe accompagnement de piano) et au niveau du texte sur l'espérance après la souffrance, thème souvent abordé dans les spirituals
