Oil Rig Explosion: Mariner Energy is No Stranger to ...

On September 2, 2010, an oil rig owned by Mariner Energy caught fire in the Gulf of Mexico. The explosion forced thirteen workers into the water, injuring at least one. Fortunately, rescue workers were able to pull all of the crewmembers safely out of the water. This accident, which comes on the heels of the deadly blast of the Deepwater Horizon, has left many people concerned about the safety of offshore workers. For Mariner Energy, this explosion will join the company’s long list of accidents over the last few years. If you or a family member has been injured in an oil rig accident, talk with a Board Certified maritime attorney before signing any papers or giving a recorded statement.
