O.S. Engine®: Basics on the GT55 Gas Engine

With the GT55, large-scale gas modelers can enjoy 20-30% more power than comparable engines, with O.S. precision as a bonus. Field footage shows the performance, with the GT55 mounted in a Great Planes® 25% Pitts M-12s. The pilot first drops the Pitts into a harrier, and goes right from that into a fast, vertical climb that takes the Pitts almost out of sight in seconds. Small wonder. The GT55 is the product of over two years of intensive R&D, backed by seventy-five years of engine manufacturing experience. A Walbro® pumper carb guarantees a constant flow of fuel. The O.S.-developed IG-01 electronic ignition system automatically adjusts timing for maximum output, compensates for wet plugs and signals low-voltage conditions. You'll find basic specs on the GT55 below. You can learn more from the five-minute "O.S.
