Friendly Fires back in the garage for album

They scored a nomination for the Mercury Music Prize and two nods at the Brit Awards all thanks to their debut album and now Friendly Fires are busy working on the follow-up.

"The idea is to have ten new songs on the album. We've done about seven of them so far. Hopefully it'll be ready by January," said Ed Macfarlane from the band.

"Because we produced it ourselves it does take a bit longer, because we're more critical of it."

"We're recording it in our garage again because it worked for the first record, so hopefully it'll work for the second," he added.

While they are using the same tried and tested technique to make the CD, the group are promising fans that they can expect something slightly different.

"It sounds a bit more expanded, a bit bigger this time," revealed Jack Savidge.
