Incessant rains have caused floods in parts of Haryana state.

Residents of Ambala City are now grappling with severe flooding and the fear of disease as the water recedes, leaving behind heaps of garbage and debris in residential areas.

Residents are using water pumps to dry out their houses. Oil drums and other materials were seen floating in knee-deep waters.

Residents complained of negligence from local authorities.

[Satish Kumar, Resident]: (male, Hindi)
“There is no assistance being provided to us from the administration. No one has provided us with water or food. We are just managing on our own. We are just doing everything on our own.”

Meanwhile, train services remained disrupted.

Many passengers were left stranded as trains were either running extremely late or were cancelled.

[Manish Sharma, Passenger]: (male, Hindi)
"We still have no clue of the train which was supposed to go from here at 11 pm last night. We have to go to a wedding; even the groom is with us. He was to be married tonight, but now I think he would only be able to get married tomorrow. What else can we do? We had already booked our tickets in advance."

Trains were being diverted due to floodwaters breaching parts of railway tracks.

Water also accumulated on the national highway, leaving many vehicles stranded on the road.
