Ant and Dec win first Bafta

I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here presenters Ant and Dec have won their first TV Bafta for entertainment performance of the year.

After being nominated five times in previous years, the pair finally collected the prestigious accolade at a ceremony held at London's Palladium Theatre.

The annual awards do was hosted by Graham Norton, and saw wins for Kenneth Branagh and Julie Walters in the best actor and actress categories.

Simon Cowell collected the special award for his contribution to the entertainment industry and developing new talent. He said: "This is a genuine honour, I wasn't expecting it."

Jane Lynch, star of American hit show Glee, received the biggest reception of the evening, arriving on stage to present the award for male comedy performance, which went to Peter Capaldi for The Thick of It.

The political satire dominated the event, taking home three prizes in all.

Cowell and Ant and Dec also scooped another trophy for best entertainment programme for ITV series Britain's Got Talent.
