Pilgrims flock to see Shroud of Turin

Throngs of pilgrims filled Turin's Piazza San Carlo on Sunday as Pope Benedict XVI celebrated mass before visiting the Shroud of Turin, believed by many to be the burial cloth of Jesus Christ. Benedict said the bloodstained cloth "mirrored" human suffering. The mysterious linen, which recently went on public display for the first time in a decade, is still the focus of passionate debate.
