ECOUEN MEDIEVAL MUSEUM -- ECOUEN, FRANCE (NEAR PARIS) 2010

Here's a thought: stay in the Hotel Campanile North of Paris, France, near Ecouen. Not very interesting, but clean and comfortable, and reasonably priced. Get up early next morning, and after breakfast at the hotel, walk (or ask the hotel to call you a taxi) over to the Château d'Ecouen. It's free the first Sunday of every month, and many other days, too! Like most museums just outside of Paris proper, the price of entry drops dramatically! Get out your cash or credit cards -- best museum boutique ever this year (March, 2010)! This is a huge Medieval Museum. Something for everyone here! There's a great restaurant for a long French lunch -- what a setting! Some rooms are not open -- they cannot afford to open it all.
