Six Killed at Shanghai Recycling Center Blaze

A fire at a Shanghai recycling center on Sunday has killed six people and injured eight. The victims were all workers at a reclamation depot in Shanghai’s Qingpu district. Three of them are in critical condition with severe burns.

According to local police, the fire was triggered by the explosion of a chemical container made of plastics and metal during the waste treatment process. The depot was a small manufacturer of plastic products and it had collected a large amount of flammable substances.
