Family Motorbikes 22 Hours for Chinese New Year Reunion

Chinese New Year is all about family reunions for millions of mainland Chinese. For some desperate and homesick families without other means of transportation, motorcycles are their only option to make it home in time for the holiday.

Millions of people started their annual journey home for Chinese New Year even if that was not the easiest thing to do.

One family left central China's Guangdong Province by three motorbikes to reach their hometown in Hunan Province.

It took them 22 hours of painstaking travel to finish the 435 mile journey.

Bumpy roads and sandstorms, along with occasional bike breakdowns, made for a tough trip.

This family is only one of a massive “motorcycle army” of at least 100,000 people adventuring home for the holidays since early this week.

A record 210 million passengers are expected to travel by train this year during the Spring Festival season.
