Judy Garland; It's Love I'm After

Here is Judy Garland in 1936 displaying the type of natural talent only seen in a handful of performers in a given century. The influence and supposed 'refining' of her talent by Roger Edens and others was just beginning. The raw, rough talent of her first years on the stage was quickly maturing into an ultra-expressive, vivacious. bigger than life display of organic theatrics. It is a joy to watch (and listen) to her early mastery of phrasing, tempo change and instant mood flexibility. All the while making that incredible personal connection to her audience.
Watching her sing on the Judy Garland Show in the 1960's we can witness the same exact complete giving of herself to her craft in one of her most artistically mature forms and see that the performance is basically the very same. Embodying the tempo. living the lyrics and penetrating her audiences' heart. One of my favorites. Enjoy
