Another exciting moment for the researchers from Aachenhas arrived – the other end of the concrete beam is ready to be subjected to a load of several tons. Before this experiment can begin, they have to turn the beam round in the test bed. The end for the second test is the same as the first, except that there are no holes – so it should be able to withstand a significantly higher load…Will it? What load will the beam fail at?
