Police Conduct Mock Terrorism Drill in Mumbai, India

After the November 26th Mumbai terror attacks, police are doing their best to keep the city safe and are also preparing for the worst. Police held a mock terror drill on Thursday to check the preparedness and response time of security officials.

[Sanjay Baviskar, Deputy Commissioner of Police]:
"The mock drill is aimed to check the response time and reaction of the police officials after the terror attacks. We chose Dadar railway station as it is very crowded during the morning hours and such places are often chosen for such terror attacks."

The drill was conducted at the Dadar railway station and the Swami Narayan temple - both locations are thought to be major targets for terrorists.

Mock drills like these have become a part of the routine to keep police prepared.

Ten gunmen from Pakistan had attacked Mumbai's landmark hotels, railway station and a Jewish settlement on November 26, 2008, killing almost 200 people.
