Not only has the wet soil preserved stones and bones over the millennia. Over 500 well preserved wooden posts dating back several thousand years have also been found, and the archaeologists continue to discover more as they dig. On the basis of their precise age, the team of researchers hope to establish a link between the settlement of Wolkenwehe and the megalithic graves in the region.
