Greasy chip butty

Sheffield United-supporters traditionally sing this song, based on John Denver’s “Annie’s song”, a pretty odd choice for a football crowd but highly efficient nonetheless. With lyrics like these it certainly suits this Northern English industrial town: “You fill up my senses, like a gallon of Magnet*, like a packet of Woodbines*, like a good pinch of snuff*, like a night out in Sheffield, like a greasy chip butty*, like Sheffield United, come fill me again.”
* Magnet: a beer from Yorkshire brewery John Smiths, *Woodbines: classical unfiltered cigarettes, *Snuff: smokeless tobacco, *Chip butty: sandwich with fries
