BNSF: intermodal W.B.
10:36 PM
Our final train of the night was another BNSF intermodal train, this time headed west. This train made for a great closing shot. The power for this train is an ES44DC, a C44-9W, and an ex-ATSF blue/yellow warbonnet GP39-2! This intermodal was very colorful and a good size. This train only had containers, unlike the others that had the mix of containers and trailers. The horn on the lead unit sounded great, it was a "Second Generation K5HLL", the same type on the ES44C4 heard earlier. As I mentioned before, the sound of this horn can compare to a Leslie RS3K or a Nathan M5 (more like an M5). The sound of the horn is out of this world! Also, note around the 1:16 mark, you can hear it in the distance...it sounds really cool!
