Made in Germany | The KfW and the Credit Crisis

Young entrepreneur Mario Peters has invested everything in his Berlin shop - his energy, his creativity, and his money. But in times of economic crisis,Peters is feeling the pinch, and urgently needs a loan from the state KfW development bank. But his own bank hasn't passed his application on to the KfW. Although he approached five other banks, the outcome was the same each time - and his application was turned down. The private banks clearly don't think such business is worth their while, and now the entrepreneur is threatened with insolvency. Reporter Carmen Meyer shows just how bureaucracy is tying the hands of smaller companies hoping to secure their share of KfW funds.
