Five fatal stabbings have taken place in Edmonton this year.

Youth violent crime has now been declared Scotland Yard’s number one priority. As the number of incidents rises, London Mayor Boris Johnson is under constant pressure to address this nationwide malaise, not least by our own Richard Barnbrook. Five fatal stabbings took place in Edmonton, north London, from January to mid-March 2008, four of them teenagers, earning the area the nickname “Shanktown.
