00:07is just mind-blowing uh that he's 22 and i was realizing something yesterday while thinking
00:12about his birthday i was kind of doing the math in my head uh because carter uh my youngest son
00:18is 20 years old and i realized that was about 20 years ago like around this time like this week
00:25that uh the last time i ever smoked a cigarette really yeah 20 years ago i quit smoking cigarettes
00:32and that made you horny and therefore you we had another then we had caroline uh no i realized that
00:39because we were still smoking both rochelle and i not while she was pregnant though and then uh after
00:46carter was born she's like okay we need to quit for good so she was the one and she she had already
00:52quit and i i hung on for a little bit longer and i'm like this is dumb i can't be doing this and so
00:57i quit 20 years ago and your way of quitting has since been adopted by the american medical

01:11for about 10 days straight and listen it worked don't tell me i took and knock it i took the and

01:27i did this i realized i i wanted to take my weakest moment right came to cigarettes and break
01:33that's smart and i wanted to break myself of that a compulsion to smoke during my weakest moments
01:39because i was like a half a pack a day smoker but if i was drinking i'd go through a pack cigarettes in
01:47two hours i mean just so that was that was your procedure that made you feel you couldn't do one
01:53without the other well that's smart so i'm like okay what i need to do is i need to learn how to drink
01:57and not smoke that's that's and then then i said the rest of it will be easy and so and i decided
02:03my method was now i'm not just going to drink beer every night i'm going to drink something different
02:08every night crippling oh yeah blitzing so i drank beer one night i drank tequila
02:14another night another night i did like 10 you're like a you're like a living a week for sure you
02:22were a living george thurgood song yeah um good question uh no it wasn't no no it was it was hard
02:28to not smoke yeah like i had to sit there and force myself no matter how much you want to smoke
02:34don't smoke so you were an emotional drunk at this point uh probably
02:38and you were coming to work i was coming to work and i had two young children in the house i had a
02:47baby i'm doing this for you did your wife know what you were doing baby and a kid that wasn't
02:53wasn't quite two years old so what you did though there's a there's a commercial for this is a go
02:58lower i don't know what it is but it's or it's a it's a um weight loss thing that apparently i think
03:04it basically does what you oh it modifies your your lifestyle in that well if you snack doing this
03:14right then don't do that and i think that's what it is i'm not exactly sure but that's it worked i think

04:49so i ended up bumming a smoke from him it was awesome it was a great cigarette one of the best
04:53ones i've ever had in my life really what made it so awesome it was a menthol i haven't had a menthol
04:57in like forever yeah let me ask you do you uh do you still have marlboro points that you never
05:03oh my god routine the miles right because then you see i remember you smoked marlboro did you not
05:09yeah yeah the funniest and like most ironic thing about that steve because i had when i started

05:18going to pick a brand they they gave you you had a catalog and you know it's i mean it's essentially
05:23like going to dave and busters and and you have all these these tickets right and the tickets will
05:27get you an eraser right right so you basically have to smoke a million pack of cigarettes right
05:32in order to get a jean jacket but like the ironic part is like the coolest stuff they had are things
