00:00Pope Francis' apostolic mission of evangelization and inclusion jibes with the teaching of the Son of Man,

00:07whose command of love thy neighbor sums up the New Testament and the essence of the Catholic faith.

00:14Pope's humility and compassion was always in full display wherever he went and was his innate way of life.

00:21Hence, the president considers him as the goat in the history of the papacy,

00:25as we hear more from our Kenneth Paciente.

00:32That's how President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. described Pope Francis, who passed away yesterday.

00:38The president stressed that Pope Francis' leadership was extraordinary,

00:43making his departure from this earth deeply saddening.

00:46He said the entire Filipino nation mourns the death of the pillar of the Catholic Church.

00:50According to the president, Pope Francis led with deep faith and humility,

00:55guiding with wisdom and a heart open to everyone, especially the poor.

00:58He taught what it means to be a good Christian, spreading kindness and compassion which led many to return to the Church.

01:05As we mourn, he said,

01:06We should also honor a life that brought hope and care to many and inspired people to love each other as Christ loves humanity.

01:14For First Lady Luisa Araneta Marcos,

01:16meeting the Pope in person was a blessing she will carry with her forever.

01:20Although his words were gentle, his message was powerful, centered on mercy, humility and love.

01:26Her wish for the Pope is eternal peace, along with gratitude for being a beacon of light in these times.

01:31U.S. President Donald Trump also expressed condolences over the Pope's death.

01:37He also ordered the U.S. flags be flown at half-mast at the White House and other public establishments,

01:42including embassies and consular offices in honor of Pope Francis.

01:46Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the Pope was a symbol of hope,

01:50especially since he joined prayers for peace in Ukraine.

01:53Russian President Vladimir Putin, on the other hand, described the Pope as a wise spiritual leader.

01:59He said the Pope was active in promoting dialogue between the Russian Orthodox and Catholic churches,

02:04as well as cooperation between Raja and the Holy See.

02:07King Charles III also offered condolences,

02:10remembering the Pope for his compassion, advocacy for church unity, and commitment to the goods of others.
