00:00I'll tell you exactly what's going on, that the Walesers have decided that they're going to spend the Easter weekend with their family in Norfolk at Amner Hall.
00:10So they're ducking out, if you like, of the traditional Easter service.
00:14Now, last year, they didn't attend the Easter service either because the Easter came just after the Princess of Wales was diagnosed with cancer.
00:23But they've had the King's permission, so it's not as if it's a snub or anything like that.
00:28It's all above board. And they have recently returned from France where they had a little skiing holiday.
00:35But they wanted to specifically spend the rest of this Easter holiday because the kids go back to school.
00:40I think it's Tuesday or Wednesday.
00:43Yeah. So, as you say, it's not a snub. They've just decided to do their own thing, which I guess happens, doesn't it?
00:49It's a big family. They don't all have to be there at the same time.
00:52No, they don't. And as far as I'm being told is that the Walesers will be having an Easter egg hunt.
00:58In the ground somewhere. So it's all devoted to the children, as it should be with Easter in any case.
01:07We'll see them back at Windsor at some stage, I'm sure.
01:10The King will have enough members of his family there.
01:14And then they'll be going off to the usual lamb lunch at the castle.
01:21So there'll be enough people there.
01:23Yeah. Is there a sense of giving William a little bit of leeway at this point when he's still got, you know, young children?
01:32But knowing that time is running out for him in the sense that he is sooner rather than later going to be wearing that crown himself.
01:42Yeah, I think there is a bit of a sense of that as well.
01:44But let's not also put aside the fact that William is very much his own man.
01:50You know, for years and years and years, we've always complained about, oh, the monarchy needs to be more modern and everything else.
01:55Well, they are now much more modern, as we have seen on a variety of issues that they deal with.
02:01And, you know, William is very much a family man, along with Catherine.
02:06And they devote as much spare time as they have to their children.
02:11And I think that's quite right.
02:13I don't think anybody could possibly criticise them for doing that.
02:16They're still key members of the royal family.
02:19You know, whenever they turn up, they are, you know, the principals there who do the job.
02:25But I think you're right, Stephen.
02:27He gets a bit more leeway than previous people have had.
