“ওঁদের সাথে দেখা করতেই এখানে আসা। তিনদিন ধরে ওঁদের কথা শুনছি। আর যা শুনছি, তা আমাদেরই মনে ভয় ধরিয়ে দিচ্ছে। ওরা ওঁদের নিজেদের রাজ্যেই, নিজেদের গ্রামে আজ নির্বাসিত। ওরা ওঁদের ঘর হারিয়েছে, চোখের সামনে ঘর পুড়ে যেতে দেখেছে। চারদিনের সন্তান, যাকে ঘরে আনার জন্যে কত পরিকল্পনা হয়েছিল, সে জন্মেই দেখছে এমন পরিস্থিতি। এগুলো ভাবা যায় না। আমরাও এই সব দেখে ভয় পেয়েছি। বাংলার মায়েরা আজ ভাল নেই”, মালদা মুর্শিদাবাদ ঘুরে আজ সাংবাদিক বৈঠকে এমনই ভাবে হতাশা প্রকাশ করলেন জাতীয় মহিলা কমিশনের চেয়ারপার্সন বিজয়া কিশোর রাহাতকার।


"We came here to meet them. We had listened to them last three days. And what we are hearing is frightening to us. They are now exiled in their own state, in their own village. They have lost their homes; they have seen their homes burn down before our eyes. A four-day-old child, who had planned so much to bring home, is now facing such a situation. This is unthinkable. We are also scared to see all this. The mothers of Bengal are not well today," said by National Commission for Women Chairperson Vijaya Kishore Rahatkar
