00:00Hello, here's your latest weather update from the Met Office, I'm Marco Patagna.
00:03We've got plenty of fine weather in store across the bulk of the UK during this Easter
00:07Sunday afternoon.
00:08As I say, there will be some sunshine in many areas, one or two showers down towards the
00:11south and south-east, and also a fair few showers in there across parts of Northern
00:15Ireland, with one or two showers also towards the north and west of Scotland.
00:18In the sunshine, and with fairly light winds, temperatures are doing fairly well for the
00:21time of year, peaking in the mid, locally upper teens Celsius.
00:24We could see a high out across some western parts of England, for example, at around about
00:2817 or 18 Celsius.
00:30Always a bit cooler, though, down that north sea coast, with the onshore winds coming in
00:33off a fairly chilly north sea, with temperatures here suppressed at around about 11 or 12 Celsius.
00:39Heading into the evening and through the overnight period, the showers will continue for a time
00:43towards the south-east of the UK, although they'll ease as we go through the latter stages
00:46of the evening, giving a mostly dry night here with a few mist and fog patches.
00:50Clearer skies towards the north-east, allowing one or two mist and fog patches to form too,
00:54but notice out towards the west and south-west of the UK, those showers merging to give some
00:58of the longer spells of rain.
00:59In fact, by Monday morning, one or two heavy bursts of rain are possible across parts of
01:02Northern Ireland, Wales and the south-west of England.
01:06Under the clear skies towards the north-east, we could see a touch of frost by Monday.
01:09Lows here around about 1 or 2 Celsius in several rural parts of Scotland, whereas towards the
01:13south and west, certainly out across the south-west here with the clouds thickening, those temperatures
01:17holding up at around about 9 to 11 Celsius.
01:20As for Monday itself, well, there will be plenty of bright weather towards the north and east
01:23of the UK to start the day, but this band of rain moving in from the south-west will
01:26progress north-eastwards across many parts as we go certainly into the afternoon.
01:30Towards the south and west at this stage, those skies are starting to brighten, but that could
01:34also spark off a few heavy, potentially even thundery showers, so that by the end of the
01:38day, the best of the dry and bright weather is reserved for the south-west of the UK.
01:42Temperatures once again doing quite well for the time of year in the sunshine, peaking at around
01:4716 or 17 Celsius, 17 in London is 63 in Fahrenheit, and with the wind now blowing in from the
01:52south and south-west, it's a slightly milder day towards those north-sea coasts with highs
01:56here and about 14 Celsius, 57 in Fahrenheit.
02:00Heading into the evening, the rain will continue its journey northwards across northern England
02:03into much of Scotland too, a few heavy bursts of rain again on the cards here, whereas towards
02:07the south and west of the UK, clearer skies are likely, just one or two showers, and under
02:12those clear skies we could see a touch of frost by Tuesday morning.
02:15That's pretty much it from me, but of course you can keep tuned to the Met Office forecast
02:18by following us on social media and by subscribing to our YouTube channel.
02:22I'll see you soon, take care, bye bye.
