00:40drier a lot harder than it was when they were previously on the track earlier
00:44today while maintaining an incredible pace Nate has been riding injured for the
00:51majority of the season he severely injured his finger there's metal work in
00:56there had to go undergo surgery he had very little grip strength he told me
01:00yesterday RC he is feeling fat and feeling strong yeah and Nate is just one
01:05of those guys I mean he's won a showdown race a triple crown race a regular race
01:11and he has a speed that's never been the problem it's just small little injuries
01:18that has slowed him down and some not to his doing well and he's had teammates
01:24with injuries too so right now Nate Thrasher is the sole 250 East rider under
01:30that under that Yamaha star racing tent and I asked today the team I said how's
01:35that on the pressure they said we are piling it on we're piling that pressure on
01:39some riders do well with that some do not they said Nate loves it when we tell him
01:43it's go time it's go time and so all that is on him right now maybe that has
01:48something to do with that great start it's clearly working on the team's planning there
01:51well we enjoy this action well in the 250 East division heat 2 let's check in with

02:01rig you saw that crash from Austin Fortner in the heat race and JT mentioned how his
02:05airbag system went off this is new to the sport of motocross the tech air system from
02:10Alpine Stars he's got to swap that one for this one when you crash it inflates before
02:16you hit the ground to cushion the impact and then it stays inflated for 25 seconds and then
02:21goes back to a normal size so the rider is not affected by the inflated airbag system it has
02:26one charge per race so he's going to swap into a new system and the good thing for Fortner
02:30after that crash he's a-okay that technology that we've seen in MotoGP road racing has come
02:36to the world of super motocross
02:42Nate Thrasher with a 1.7 second lead over Hammock up Tom Vial a little further back aboard his Red Bull KTM then
02:50Max Boland and Jack Chambers and in that final transfer position in ninth Trevor Collum at the moment
02:57there's Tom Vial earlier today when the track was a bit ruddier I felt like it was playing right into Tom Vial's hands of the championship contenders he is the only guy that hasn't won yet this year lacking a little bit of speed however he's only two points back whoa whoa some wild stuff going on further back

04:29yeah I think last weekend I felt good on the bike just to start starts weren't there
04:35on the restart of the main event so yeah we just worked on starts this week and I think
04:39it's going to take a good start here there's a lot of good guys so yeah just get off the gate and
04:43I think it'll be a good spot and even though ricky that his hand is pretty much 100 healed
04:50I asked him yesterday why do you still have the hand guards on he said believe it or not where
04:54I've got my scar and where I had the sore finger the roost still really hurts my hand yeah I mean the
05:00these tires put off a massive bruise it's like sitting in front of a paintball gun
05:05and uh it's hurt so any little protection helps so that's why he has those black hand guards
05:13covering up his hands and there are little rocks out on this racetrack
05:18he's down there walking the track earlier today during qualifying practice watching these guys
05:23as they were taking laps and trying to get their best time and there's small little pebbles out there
05:29nice to see a dry track for once in a few weeks right we've been uh the weather mother nature has
05:35been keeping us on our toes nice to have the sunshine 25 seconds left plus a lap nate thrash has been in
05:44control since the start over co-championship leader set hammock other than tom vial max volan
05:51started the day pretty speedily and then jack chambers
05:57headed for a career best heat result if he can stay there in the top five
06:03chan baker holds on to that ninth and final transfer position sometimes it's difficult
06:09when the track changes from qualifying practice to the heat races right now and then later on
06:17to the main event you have to really be on top of it be trying to you have to forecast what that
06:24track condition is going to be like so you can make the appropriate changes to your motorcycle
06:28and the setup whether it be suspension engine tires so the rider that is most in tune with how
06:35their bike works and the necessary changes they may need to help them the best lap times have the most
06:43discomfort to race with as much speed as possible
06:49is the second place set hammock up that big win that will alluded to earlier this season in indianapolis
06:58broke a four-year drought and behind him coming to the white flag who is a long way back tom vial more
07:06than 10 seconds jason thomas behind set hammock runs third and this is a little worrisome for tom vial
07:13because the way he had been in this championship lead was through consistency it hadn't been through
07:18raw speed as ricky mentioned now with that foxborough debacle he has lost the lead and it's going to be
07:24up to him to find the speed that it takes to win and in this heat race so far he has not been able to do
07:29that so somewhere between now and the main event he's gonna have to figure this out but the points are only
07:33going to get worse from here he's getting some serious heat from the 92 of max boland
07:39and that blue and white yamaha i was watching max boland earlier today and he looked really
07:47comfortable had incredible whoop speed there we go checkered flag for nate thrasher well done
07:53right from the drop of the gate nate thrasher was out in front and put together a really comprehensive
07:59heat victory over set hammocker and then tom vial will cross the line third with a little bit of
08:07head-scratching to do
