00:00Hello, you? Do you remember me? Because I remember you.
00:05Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're looking at what to keep in mind for the return of Joe
00:09Goldberg in You's fifth and final season. Spoilers ahead for seasons one through four.
00:14We're not done with each other yet.
00:17Number 10. Joe's body count, so far. Since season one of You,
00:22Joe Goldberg has racked up a growing body count.
00:24Sometimes we do bad things for the people we love.
00:31He kills five in season one, including Beck's ex Benji,
00:34her best friend Peach and Beck herself, as well as Paco's stepdad.
00:38Hey, run.
00:41In season two, he added two people to his list, and we see another in a flashback.
00:46Joe scaled back in season three. Too busy cleaning up love's crimes,
00:49but he did dispatch Marianne's ex and ended the season by murdering his wife.
00:53You did this to yourself.
00:58In season four, Joe nearly doubled his body count,
01:01killing three of Kate's friends, a security guard and Reese Montrose.
01:05Repeat after me, I'm smarter than you.
01:11He also kills her dad, Tom Lockwood, and his bodyguard, and Nadia's boyfriend, Eddie.
01:16That's 18 people total that we know of.
01:19So I have a proposition for you. Are you ready?
01:25We keep each other good.
01:28Keep each other good.
01:30Number nine, Joe's fractured mind.
01:32Season four's biggest twist was the reveal that Reese Montrose was not the eat the rich killer,
01:37or the person stalking and framing Joe.
01:40It was all in Joe's head.
01:42Was I really in the conversation, or was it more that I just said something and no one responded but you?
01:48He was the culprit and never even met the real Reese.
01:51Joe is so horrified by his violent actions that he completely dissociated,
01:55separating that dark part of himself and creating a persona to blame it on.
01:59This isn't me.
02:00The spell had grown stronger.
02:02I would never hurt her.
02:03We saw a preview of his increasingly fractured mind in season three when a measles-induced fever dream
02:09made him hallucinate a version of himself, another personification of his true nature.
02:13Sealed and everything.
02:15It's almost like you anticipated meeting it all along.
02:18Shut up.
02:18You shut up.
02:20In the finale, Joe sees Reese in his reflection, implying we haven't seen the last of him.
02:26Number eight, Joe almost ended it all.
02:28Joe's realization that he was kidnapping and killing people without knowing
02:32forced him to come to terms with who he really is, a murderer.
02:36In another trippy dream sequence, he's confronted by the women he's killed, including Gemma.
02:41I know what I am.
02:43Yes.
02:44Oh, you've made that very clear to yourself these past few days.
02:47But it's Beck and Love who tell him he needs to face the truth that he's a danger to every woman he falls for.
02:53Somebody does need to die for the stand for good.
02:55After he saves Kate from her invasive father, Joe decides to take his own life,
03:00knowing that she would end up like his other victims.
03:03Every time I try, I made it perfect.
03:07It's never enough.
03:09Reese tries to talk him out of it, but Joe jumps off a bridge into deep water.
03:13However, he miraculously survives.
03:16I'll tell your friend that you're awake.
03:17Number seven, Marianne got away.
03:19Rarely do any characters on You Get a Happy Ending.
03:22Specifically, the women who are unwitting objects of Joe's obsession.
03:27Joe.
03:28Like my union mates, they all used to do this.
03:30I need to talk to my daughter.
03:32She'll be worried about me.
03:34Wait to get a satan here that will make your eyes roll to the back of your head.
03:38Now, my best mate.
03:39I was supposed to be home days ago.
03:41But thanks to Joe's, or Professor Moore's student, Nadia,
03:45Marianne became the exception.
03:46I'm Nadia.
03:47All right, let me help you, okay?
03:48Nadia finds her in a glass cage, and the two come up with a plan to trick Joe into thinking
03:53she took her life.
03:54I'll do it.
03:57My child is out there.
03:59I will not blink.
04:00Believing Marianne is deceased, he leaves her body on a park bench for someone to find.
04:05Nadia revives her, and she gets to go home to her daughter in Paris.
04:09Marianne, you okay?
04:11You okay?
04:13Hopefully, Joe never finds out Marianne's alive.
04:15But with Nadia in prison, maybe she'll return the favor by helping clear her name.
04:20While Marianne's return isn't officially confirmed,
04:23actress Tati Gabrielle was spotted on set in May 2024.
04:27Grateful for your second chance at a good life.
04:31Right.
04:32Number 6.
04:33Kate inherited the family business.
04:35Before we met Tom Lockwood, we already knew he wasn't a good person.
04:38My father is the worst man alive, and I am his favorite daughter.
04:43As CEO of the T.R. Lockwood Corporation, he had power and influence in every industry.
04:49Kate tells Joe her father was an activist investor, gaining control of companies to
04:53dissolve them.
04:54Great work of fiction exposes something deeper.
04:58Gets to the truth of who a person really is, right?
05:01Tom also used his resources to make criminal charges, and as we see with Adam, people disappear.
05:07I didn't want Adam dead.
05:08Then why mention him in my presence, honey?
05:10Unlike him, Kate felt guilty about the people who suffered from their actions and left the company.
05:15Now that she's at the helm, she can focus on philanthropic efforts.
05:19She has six siblings.
05:21At least three will meet in Season 5, but Tom wanted his favorite daughter to take over,
05:25though he probably didn't expect to be murdered for that to happen.
05:29You think you can buy me?
05:31I think I can save you.
05:32Number 5.
05:33Henry will return.
05:35The last time we saw little Henry 40 Quinn Goldberg was in the Season 3 finale.
05:39I'm sorry.
05:41I'm so sorry.
05:43This isn't forever.
05:47I love you more than anything.
05:50After killing love and torching their home in Madre Linda, Joe left him with his library
05:55co-worker Dante and his partner Lansing.
05:57No, it wasn't fair of me, but it was the right thing for Henry.
06:01An older Henry will appear in Season 5, meaning he now lives in New York with his dad and new
06:07stepmother Kate.
06:07But we don't know how much he heard about his biological mom while growing up in Madre
06:13Linda.
06:13While his maternal grandparents stopped fighting for custody, there's no telling if they'll
06:18try to be in his life now.
06:19You know, my daughter's trying to keep him from me.
06:21She's selfish like her father.
06:22Number 4.
06:23Joe framed Nadia.
06:25We can all agree that Joe has done a fair share of terrible things.
06:29But one of the most shocking moments of Season 4 was watching him frame his former student
06:34Nadia.
06:34I got a second chance.
06:36And this time, I'm utilizing all of me.
06:39Joe caught her and her boyfriend Eddie snooping in his flat for evidence.
06:43He then killed Eddie, deleted photos on her phone, put the knife in her hand, and calmly
06:48explained she would go to prison for Eddie's murder.
06:51Tell them all about me.
06:53No one's gonna believe you.
06:55So you'll live.
06:56For good measure, Joe framed Eddie for the murder of Rhys Montrose.
07:00Nadia knows he has significantly more power and resources, and her word against his would
07:05be an uphill battle.
07:07We just hope she's spent her time behind bars coming up with a plan, and we'll see it play
07:11out in Season 5.
07:13You have so many gifts.
07:16I'm looking forward to watching what you do next.
07:18Number 3.
07:19Joe's back in the Big Apple.
07:21By the Season 4 finale, Joe and Kate have left London behind for New York City.
07:25So, what's next for the power couple?
07:28Well, at the risk of sounding terribly sincere, we're largely focused on changing the world.
07:34So many ways to do that.
07:36While he'll likely play some role in Lockwood Corp., we know running Mooney's bookstore
07:41is where his passion lies.
07:43This is where he'll hire the literary-loving and aptly named Bronte, who is, you guessed
07:47it, his new obsession.
07:49I have been hiding certain things.
07:51But the world you live in wouldn't understand.
07:53Maybe he'll bring on his old Mooney's co-worker, Ethan, or run into his former neighbor, Paco,
07:58or his ex, Karen.
07:59I think I'll write another one from the male perspective.
08:03Assuming I can procure your services on an as-need basis.
08:06We've also been dying to see him reunite with his mom and half-brother, Jacob.
08:11Though who knows if they, or anyone else we named, are still in New York.
08:14We do know that Beck's friend, Annika Atwater, rightfully and publicly accuses him of killing
08:20Peach Salinger.
08:21If anyone knows anything about Joe Goldberg, we want to know.
08:24Number 2.
08:25Possible returning characters.
08:27The Joe Goldberg rebrand will lure some of his foes out of the woodwork.
08:31And there are a lot of people who'd want to see his downfall.
08:34Including Nadia, Marion, and anyone from Season 1.
08:37Hey, maybe it's not so bad.
08:39Maybe, maybe she's really on a writing retreat, you know?
08:41Season 2's Ellie Alves was briefly mentioned in the last two seasons,
08:45but we still haven't seen her.
08:46In Season 3, Joe saved Theo Engler after Love tried to kill him,
08:50so he and his stepdad could show up.
08:53You better be okay.
08:54Carrie and Sherry Conrad capitalized on their time as captives in Love's bakery basement,
08:59but they'd likely still want to expose him.
09:01Love's parents sent a hitman after Joe in Season 4.
09:05Maybe they'll try again.
09:06And of course, we'd love to see more of Beck and Love in spectral form.
09:11It's not the key.
09:13What do you mean?

09:30Number 1. Joe Has a Clean Slate
09:32Joe Goldberg has donned many identities.
09:35Paul Brown, Will Bettelheim, Jonathan Moore.
09:38Oh, Moore, Moore.
09:40Where's your family from?
09:42All over.
09:42Kate uses her new power to reinvent Joe,
09:45using his real name and rewriting his past in a way that paints him as a victim.
09:49While it's not clear if she knows he killed her father
09:52or all of the other crimes he committed,
09:54she accepts him for who she thinks he is.
09:56When I was in the water, I thought of you the entire time.
10:04God, you Americans are so emotional.
10:13I love you too.
10:14For years, Joe has stayed under the radar,
10:17which is how he racked up a body count of 18 people deep.
10:20But now, he's a public figure.
10:22He lost his anonymity, but gained unlimited resources,
10:26including fixers on hand to control the narrative.
10:29He's also accepted his true self, a remorseless killer.
10:33No one is safe.
10:34You want us to kill everyone who's suspicious of us for the rest of our lives.
10:38Is that so wrong?
10:39What are you looking forward to seeing in the final season?
10:42Let us know in the comments below.
10:43At heart, I am the normal guy.
