00:06tell you my Eddie Money story yeah he called here on the hotline to talk to
00:09Mason never told me who it was nobody told me he was gonna call so I'm just
00:13sitting here talking to this guy for like five minutes and finally I say so
00:17who is this and he goes Eddie Money I'm like oh my god Eddie Money I was with
00:25him one time and he was he had to read these little liners for the radio
00:29station hey it's the money man Eddie Money and he couldn't see it so I lent
00:34him my glasses and he read them and then he went running off and he had my
00:38reading glasses and I'm like trying to chase this guy down and then like across
00:45a big ballroom he sees me he's like hey dad I got your glasses man hey go man and I
00:50thought that was pretty cool he's easy he was a good man crazy but a good man
00:54November 1991 he's supposed to be coming in so we can
00:58interview him live in studio I've been up all weekend no sleep I'm bound and
01:02determined to be there it's Eddie Money it's the early 90s I drive from Ocala
01:07to Gainesville at five o'clock in the morning fall asleep on the interstate
01:10flip my car ten times according to the guy behind me who watched the whole thing
01:14walked off with a scratch that's my Eddie Money scar I wrecked an 85 Mustang because I
01:22wouldn't miss the opportunity to interview Eddie Money everybody else has
01:26pictures of Eddie Money and him being in the studio I got a scar and I lost a car
01:31doing one of those benefit hurricane things here in Florida I think Eddie
01:36Money is kind of local but I remember him bossing me around calling me kid
01:40referring him to himself as the money man and I did remember that he he over the
01:45year you know sharp dresser in the 80s nice suits and in the mid-2000s or early
01:502000s he looked like Rodney Dangerfield in the movie easy money where he had the
01:55regular guy clothes shirts that don't tuck polyester pants a lot of pockets big
02:00zippers the money man kind soul he will be missed thing I always remember about
02:07Eddie is whenever you had him for an interview he was like the easiest
02:11interview in the world he always had like 10 or 15 one-liners like ready to go
02:15like you would ask him a question you can't shake him man can't shake me he
02:19would be right on focus with all those one-liners you're gonna hear a lot of
02:24people from radio say how he's the nicest guy and he really was I would say
02:27Steven Tyler Sting and Eddie Money the three nicest guys in the music industry and
02:32yeah we're all gonna miss him
