Description: Ahmedabad (Gujarat), April 16, 2025 (ANI): EAM S Jaishankar visited construction site of National Maritime Heritage Complex in Ahmedabad’s Lothal on April 16. He also said that they are preparing a global workplace for the young generation. “The work on the National Maritime Heritage Complex is ongoing. Its first phase will be completed this year... I had an opportunity to visit the famous site of Lothal, which we studied about in school... It is good to see that people are interested in our heritage. So to enable that, facilities like roads, transport, accommodations, or institutions that can educate people about such places are needed... (The NMHC) is a manifestation of our heritage, history, and culture... We are called a maritime power. The sea and ocean policy is an important pillar of our foreign policy. I am fully confident that this project will turn out well and its design will be such that it will be easy for the public to understand and the country will be proud of this maritime museum,” said Jaishankar. “"The new generation is extremely excited to engage with the world... In this digital era, the younger generation, especially, is well-connected. So they would naturally be curious to know about our role in history and what role we will play in the future... We are preparing a global workplace for the young generation. Our maritime capacity itself is growing. It is very apt for the current time that a museum like NMHC is being built now... I wish everyone all the best... I am confident that it will turn out very well.",” he added.
