Song Name/Song Piece Hansel and Gretel

Recommended tempo for this piece is 66 bpm. Although this seems to be quite a calm sounding piece, the dynamics tend to change suddenly - from mp - moderato piano (soft) to mf - moderato forte (loud) and this needs to be kept in mind when practising.
There is lots of contrasting articulation, such as legato (smooth) and staccato (detached) and this detail, along with the contrasting dynamics needs to be secured early on when practising. The left hand semiquaver accompaniment pattern can be played legato and it would be a good idea to play the right hand melody in such a way that it sings out above the left hand part. As is the case with the A2 piece, Vivace, there is always a risk of the left hand accompanying part overpowering the right hand melody in these types of pieces.
Look out for the rit. (slowing down) in bar 16. The tempo of course resumes in the following bar. There is also a rit. at the final bar 32, along with a nice crescendo in bar 31, so it’s good to keep all this in mind in order to have a nice musical ending.
