One man remains in hospital after friend dies at a Port Stephens beach

One man is still fighting for his after being rescued from the water at a beach in Port Stephens yesterday, just north of Newcastle. The 25-year-old was swimming with his 24-year-old friend at Zenith beach when they both lost their footing in the surf. The 24-year-old died at the scene.
