A major tragedy was averted at Lucknow’s Lok Bandhu Hospital after a fire broke out on the second floor of the building. Due to the swift action of the administration and fire department, around 200 patients were safely rescued and shifted to other hospitals. The fire, which caused the floor to fill with smoke and flames, created panic among patients and their attendants. Despite the chaos, rescue operations were launched immediately, and patients were evacuated one by one. Upon receiving news of the incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath contacted officials to gather information. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak rushed to the spot to oversee the situation. Meanwhile Opposition leader Akhilesh Yadav criticized the BJP government, stating that it has failed to maintain hospitals built by previous governments. He demanded a thorough investigation into the cause of the fire and called for improved safety protocols. Akhilesh also accused VIPs of showing superficial concern and claimed that proper governance could have prevented such incidents. Thanks to the prompt response by fire services and hospital staff, no casualties were reported, and all patients were evacuated safely. The incident raises serious questions about fire safety measures in public healthcare facilities across the state.
