00:00At 4.35 o'clock yesterday afternoon, my feet would have been covered in water.
00:04In fact, it would have been probably up to my ankles.
00:07The groundsman did a tremendous job with the covers out here.
00:09And as you can see, the area around the pitch and the stumps is dry as a bone.
00:15Have a look at that.
00:16We really did expect to see some moisture or certainly some patches out here,
00:19but the covers did their job absolutely perfectly.
00:22Not a damp spot on the pitch, which is absolutely incredible considering all the rain we had.
00:28This is the area that's caused one or two little problems for the batsman.
00:32You can see the fair few little cracks around there.
00:34And the odd ball just outside off stump down this end is kept low from this area.
00:38And the batsman will have to be a little bit watchful of that.
00:40But otherwise, the pitch looks in absolutely magnificent order.
00:45A little problem for the batsman will be the outfield.
00:47Not that it's going to affect the Pakistanis too much,
00:49but the water really has gone into that outfield out there.
00:52And it's going to be a little bit slower.
00:54So the ball won't run quite as readily to the boundary.
00:56Very sticky out here, very, very hot indeed.
00:59But really the pitch in magnificent order, even now.
01:03Well, that's the way it is out there.
01:04This ground really is a superb drying ground.
01:06Not quite as good nowadays as it used to be before the greyhound track was in,
01:11but it's still very good indeed.
01:13Here's the action now.
01:13We pick up play in the second over.
01:15We pick up play in the second over.
01:28Maybe, it's strange.
