00:00Rawia, China is really the only nation at the moment that we're seeing come out retaliating against Trump's tariffs.
00:08I think the world right now is kind of watching what the European Union is going to do and how their stance is going to come across.
00:17What are the main concerns that we heard from Ursula von der Leyen today, the European commissioner?
00:22Well, I mean, Europe has to think about its stand and to decide whether they need to retaliate or negotiate with the U.S.
00:31The problem with Europe is that it has many problems, actually.
00:35First of all, it's fragmented.
00:37For example, the French attitude towards Trump's tariffs is completely different than the Hungarian, for example, reaction or attitude towards them.
00:50We're talking about also an economy, a European economy, which is exhausted because of the Ukrainian war.
00:57And they have challenges as well.
00:59They need to militarize Europe, especially if the U.S. decides to move out of NATO.
01:07And therefore, they have also more debts.
01:10I don't think we can compare China to Europe in this instance in terms of facing these tariffs.
01:17I think China's position economically is stronger than the European position.
01:24And therefore, I think China is definitely going to be in a better position to stand up to Trump's tariffs.
