Love Your Brewery: Noble Craft, Market Drayton
Transcript
00:00I'm Jack Hughes. I'm Wayne Leake. Yep, we're based in Market Drayton, Dropshire, so we've been here for
00:07four years in November. I was a passionate home brewer for many years, going back many, many years
00:16in my late teens, where the ingredients weren't so clever, but as time went on, the ingredients
00:25got better and better. It was always a passion to make good beer. As I was getting older,
00:32leading up to retirement, I thought it would be a good idea to go that step further and
00:38open up a microbrewery. So at the time, my wife had said, you can do it on your own, you need
00:44help. So I thought, ooh, my nephew, Jack, see if Jack would be interested. Jack says, yeah,
00:50that sounds interesting. Why not give it a go?
00:53Well, let's give it a go. Yeah. So I had no real interest in ale, to be honest. I was
00:59always a bit of a lager whiskey man. I thought, yeah, why not give it a go? So I started getting
01:04into ale, started drinking them. I absolutely love them. I love brewing it. It's a great industry
01:09to work in as well. People are fantastic. The beer's great. So our first commercial brew
01:15was, it was called Noble Pale, which we kept going for a while. It was quite successful.
01:24We then did a couple more brews. We did one called Kingdom. We did a dark called Night.
01:29And then we went on to Blonde, which we found massively successful. 3.7 Pale Ale. It seems
01:38to just sell constantly. It's our best seller by far. We then brewed Crusade, which was my
01:45first original brew I did on my own. And then we entered that into a competition and got
01:50first place, which was fantastic. It was great news to have that. We've then done a few more
01:57brews. We keep, basically, we try to change it seasonally. So we always have Blonde in stock.
02:02And then throughout the year, we rotate what we've got. So we try to do darks in the winter,
02:07keep rotating our pails, which is Kingdom, and now Chard, which is our latest pale. And then we
02:16got our new amber, which is Jester, which is that one, I believe. And yeah, so that's a 4.2 amber,
02:25which we found is absolutely lovely beer. It was at this point when we decided to rebrand as well.
02:30So we changed our labels, our designs, pump clips, and we've seen a massive, yeah, the website,
02:35we've seen a massive success in sales with that as well. Some of our biggest regulars are the Falcon,
02:40Telegraph and Shoesbury, Hail to the Ale, which is out in... Towards Wolfampton.
02:48Towards Wolfampton. And Old Bakehouse out in Welshpool. And then we're looking to expand as well.
02:55We're also in, we're running a price pub at the armoury in Cammermere Arms. And we're also in farm shops,
03:00round shops around. Prince of Wales, Camry. Prince of Wales, Camry from the Shoesbury.
