00:00King Charles III has arrived in Rome for a three-day state visit to Italy, accompanied
00:06by Queen Camilla.
00:09It marks his first overseas trip since his brief hospital stay for cancer treatment side
00:15effects and will include the first address to the Italian Parliament of a British monarch,
00:21meetings with Italy's President and Premier and a trip to Ravenna to commemorate the city's
00:2680th anniversary of liberation.
00:30Charles had been set to meet with Pope Francis, but this was postponed by mutual agreement
00:36due to the Pope's recent hospitalisation with double pneumonia.
00:41While in Rome, Charles is expected to emphasise the strong ties between Britain and Italy
00:46as NATO allies, at a time when European nations are working to bolster support for Ukraine.
00:54The visits will also feature a joint flyover of Rome's Historic Centre by the Italian
00:59Frecce Tricolore and the RAF Red Arrows.
