00:00Myanmar is in the ASEAN bloc and family, thus it behooves the Philippines to help the beleaguered
00:06and poorest ASEAN member, no matter its repulsive authoritarian regime and its mounting human
00:11rights violations in the ongoing civil war, and its struggle to get on its feet after
00:16the horrific devastation sustained from last week's magnitude 7.7 deadly quake.
00:22Our Bien Manalo tells us more on the country's earthquake assistance program dubbed P-MAP
00:26in this report.
00:29Following the recent 7.7 magnitude earthquakes in Thailand and Myanmar, the Philippine embassy
00:35in Myanmar has launched an earthquake assistance program.
00:39This includes the repatriation of our countrymen who were hardly affected by the massive earthquake.
00:45The embassy plans to use a C-130 cargo aircraft for the return of the OFWs on April 12.
00:52The embassy also clarified that the returning OFW can still make it back to Myanmar for
00:57work but they are required to have the necessary documents such as a valid visa and overseas
01:03employment certificate.
01:04They will also provide transportation assistance for the relocation commute from Mandalay to
01:10Yangon as well as temporary accommodations for 14 days.
01:15Those who want to avail of transportation assistance may register via email yangonphilippinembassy.consular
01:22at dfa.gov.ph.
01:24They will also provide financial assistance to qualified OFWs and pre-trauma counseling
01:29services.
01:31Anyone who wishes to avail of free counseling can call or contact the number on your TV
01:36screen.
01:37Meanwhile, the Philippine Interagency Humanitarian Contingent is still assisting exhaustively
01:42in search, rescue, retrieval, and medical operations in Myanmar.
01:48The Pimat Type 1 Fixed Hospital at the Bumingaong Temple continues to provide medical aid.
01:53In total, Pimat's assistance has now reached more than 100 individuals, including 136 Burmese
02:00nationals and 4 Filipinos.
02:03Among the illnesses under Pimat treatment include general medicine, surgical, pediatric,
02:09orthopedic, and OB-GYN.
02:11Some of the causes are hypertension, type 2 diabetes, hypertensive crisis, arthrosis,
02:18muscle disorders, urinary tract disorders, wrist and hand injuries, conjunctivitis, pneumonia,
02:25and gonorrhoea.
02:26The Pimats from DOH can also do ongoing health investigation or care and community-based
02:32primary care in an outpatient fixed facility.
02:36The Health Department assured all Pimat personnel are in good condition.
02:40They also assured to continue providing support and humanitarian assistance amid the trials
02:46and vowed to reach out to all those affected by the disaster.
